Ich freue mich, euch von einer inspirierenden Veranstaltung zu berichten, die kürzlich in Europa stattfand und ein starkes Zeichen für Gemeinschaft, Freundschaft und Wohltätigkeit setzte. Die Rotary Fellowship Cycling to Serve hat mit dem Epic Ride und den 4 Days in Prague zwei beeindruckende Events organisiert, die Radfahrer aus verschiedenen Teilen Europas zusammenbrachten. Vom 30. Mai bis zum 2. Juni 2024 versammelten sich Radenthusiasten, um an diesen herausfordernden und zugleich erhebenden Fahrten teilzunehmen.

Kam kënaqësinë t'ju tregoj për një ngjarje frymëzuese që ndodhi së fundmi në Evropë, e cila bëri një deklaratë të fortë për komunitetin, miqësinë dhe bamirësinë. Rotary Fellowship Cycling to Serve organizoi dy ngjarje mbresëlënëse, Epic Ride dhe 4 Days në Pragë, të cilat mblodhën së bashku çiklistët nga pjesë të ndryshme të Evropës. Nga 30 maji deri më 2 qershor 2024, entuziastët e çiklizmit u mblodhën për të marrë pjesë në këto xhiro sfiduese por emocionuese.

The Epic Ride and the 4 Days in Prague of the Rotary Fellowship Cycling to Serve
I am pleased to tell you about an inspiring event that recently took place in Europe that made a strong statement about community, friendship and charity. The Rotary Fellowship Cycling to Serve organized two impressive events, the Epic Ride and the 4 Days in Prague, which brought together cyclists from different parts of Europe. From May 30 to June 2, 2024, cycling enthusiasts gathered to take part in these challenging yet uplifting rides.
Epic Ride: Eine Herausforderung über Grenzen hinweg
Der Epic Ride war eine wahre Bewährungsprobe für die Teilnehmer. Mit Tagesetappen von 150 Kilometern und bis zu 2.000 Höhenmetern war dieser Ritt nichts für schwache Nerven. Besonders stolz sind wir auf Simon Sosnitza, ein engagiertes Mitglied des Helmstedter Rotary Clubs, der diese Herausforderung meisterte. Insgesamt starteten 18 Fahrer von Hanau und Paderborn aus, ihre Route führte sie über Eisenach, Gera und Most nach Prag. Parallel dazu begannen Gruppen von 12 Fahrern ihre Reise in Warschau und 18 Fahrer starteten von Perg aus Richtung Prag.
Udhëtimi Epik ishte një provë e vërtetë për pjesëmarrësit. Me etapat ditore prej 150 kilometrash dhe deri në 2000 metra lartësi, ky udhëtim nuk ishte për ata që ndiheshin të dobët. Jemi veçanërisht krenarë për Simon Sosnitza, një anëtar i përkushtuar i Klubit Rotary Helmstedt, i cili e zotëroi këtë sfidë. Gjithsej 18 kalorës u nisën nga Hanau dhe Paderborn, rruga e tyre i çoi ata përmes Eisenach, Gera dhe Most në Pragë. Në të njëjtën kohë, grupe prej 12 kalorësish filluan udhëtimin e tyre në Varshavë dhe 18 kalorës u nisën nga Perg drejt Pragës.
The Epic Ride was a real test for the participants. With daily stages of 150 kilometers and up to 2,000 meters in altitude, this ride was not for the faint of heart. We are particularly proud of Simon Sosnitza, a committed member of the Helmstedt Rotary Club, who mastered this challenge. A total of 18 riders started from Hanau and Paderborn, their route took them via Eisenach, Gera and Most to Prague. At the same time, groups of 12 riders began their journey in Warsaw and 18 riders set off from Perg towards Prague.
4 Days in Prague: Entdeckung und Freundschaft
Parallel zum Epic Ride fanden die 4 Days in Prague statt, eine Veranstaltung, die tägliche Fahrten über 50, 80 und 120 Kilometer bot. Diese Fahrten boten nicht nur die Gelegenheit, die malerische Umgebung von Prag zu erkunden, sondern waren auch eine perfekte Möglichkeit, internationale Freundschaften zu pflegen und die Gemeinschaft zu stärken. Die Teilnehmer genossen die wunderschöne Landschaft und die historischen Sehenswürdigkeiten Prags, während sie gleichzeitig ihre Leidenschaft für das Radfahren teilten.
Paralelisht me Epic Ride ishte 4 Ditët në Pragë, një ngjarje që ofronte udhëtime ditore prej 50, 80 dhe 120 kilometrash. Jo vetëm që këto udhëtime dhanë një mundësi për të eksploruar rrethinat piktoreske të Pragës, por ato ishin gjithashtu një mënyrë e përsosur për të nxitur miqësitë ndërkombëtare dhe për të forcuar komunitetin. Pjesëmarrësit shijuan peizazhet e bukura të Pragës dhe pamjet historike, ndërsa ndanë pasionin e tyre për çiklizmit.
Running parallel to the Epic Ride was the 4 Days in Prague, an event that offered daily rides of 50, 80 and 120 kilometers. Not only did these trips provide an opportunity to explore the scenic surroundings of Prague, but they were also a perfect way to foster international friendships and strengthen community. Diese Aktion unterstützt World Bicycle Relief, eine Organisation, die Menschen in ländlichen Regionen weltweit mit robusten Fahrrädern versorgt. Diese Fahrräder sind ein lebensveränderndes Werkzeug, das den Zugang zu Bildung, Gesundheitsversorgung und wirtschaftlichen Möglichkeiten verbessert. Kjo fushatë mbështet World Bicycle Relief, një organizatë që ofron biçikleta të qëndrueshme për njerëzit në zonat rurale anembanë botës. Këto biçikleta janë një mjet që ndryshon jetën që rrit aksesin në arsim, kujdes shëndetësor dhe mundësi ekonomike. Qëllimi ynë është të dhurojmë 250 Biçikleta Buffalo, të cilat nevojiten dëshpërimisht në këto zona të largëta. A special highlight was the fundraising campaign “We donate slipstream! Rally to Prague”. This campaign supports World Bicycle Relief, an organization that provides sturdy bicycles to people in rural areas around the world. These bikes are a life-changing tool that increases access to education, healthcare and economic opportunities. Ride4Hope: Das Ziel – Eine integrative Zukunft für autistische Kinder im Kosovo
Wir sind besonders stolz darauf, dass wir während der Fellowship-Veranstaltungen mit unseren speziell gestalteten Trikots auf das Projekt „Ride4Hope“ aufmerksam machen konnten. Diese Trikots sind nicht nur ein Symbol für unsere Unterstützung und unser Engagement, sondern haben auch dazu beigetragen, das Bewusstsein für unsere Mission zu schärfen und zusätzliche Unterstützung zu mobilisieren. Es ist inspirierend zu sehen, wie der Sport dazu beitragen kann, soziale Themen ins Rampenlicht zu rücken und die Gemeinschaft zu aktivieren.
Jemi veçanërisht krenarë që mundëm të tërhiqnim vëmendjen te projekti "Ride4Hope" me fanellat tona të dizajnuara posaçërisht gjatë ngjarjeve të miqësisë. Jo vetëm që këto fanella janë një simbol i mbështetjes dhe angazhimit tonë, por ato gjithashtu kanë ndihmuar në rritjen e ndërgjegjësimit për misionin tonë dhe në mobilizimin e mbështetjes shtesë. Është frymëzuese të shohësh se si sporti mund të ndihmojë të ndriçojë vëmendjen për çështjet sociale dhe të aktivizojë komunitetin.
We are particularly proud that we were able to draw attention to the “Ride4Hope” project with our specially designed jerseys during the fellowship events. Not only are these jerseys a symbol of our support and commitment, but they have also helped raise awareness of our mission and mobilize additional support. It's inspiring to see how sport can help shine a spotlight on social issues and activate the community.
Gemeinsam für eine bessere Welt
Die Rotary Fellowship Cycling to Serve fördert durch ihre Aktivitäten nicht nur den Radsport, sondern auch die internationale Verständigung und den Frieden. Ihr Engagement zeigt, wie Sport und Gemeinschaft zusammenkommen können, um positive Veränderungen zu bewirken.
